Description

Grows to a height of 1m.

Arthropodium cirratum, commonly known as Renga Renga or Rock Lily, is a versatile New Zealand native perennial herb. It forms large clumps of broad, medium-green, arching foliage, growing to about 60-75 cm in height and width.

This plant is prized for its graceful sprays of white, star-shaped flowers that appear on wispy stems from spring to mid-summer, attracting birds when they turn to fruit. Renga Renga is widely used as a groundcover, particularly in dry shade and under trees.

Arthropodium cirratum is adaptable to various conditions, thriving in partial to full sun. It tolerates dry and coastal environments, making it suitable for exposed sites. While it prefers well-drained, frost-free areas, it can withstand some frost, though may get damaged in colder regions.

Commonly mass-planted as groundcover, it's also effective in cottage or white gardens, borders, and around outdoor living areas. While generally hardy, it's susceptible to slug and snail damage. This plant's natural habitat is in dry, rocky coastal regions throughout New Zealand.
