Description

Grows to a height of 1.2m.

Corokia x virgata 'Emerald and Jade' is a hardy, compact New Zealand native shrub prized for its attractive foliage and interesting form. This evergreen typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 0.75 m wide, featuring a mass of wiry, tangled branches with small, emerald-green leaves on silver-grey stems.

In spring, Emerald and Jade produces small, mildly fragrant, star-shaped yellow flowers, followed by red, orange, or yellow berries in autumn, which attract birds. This shrub is versatile in landscaping, commonly used as a low hedge, screen, mixed planting component, or as a backdrop for smaller plants.

Corokia Emerald and Jade responds well to trimming, which encourages new growth and helps maintain its compact shape. It's adaptable to various conditions, being drought and coastal hardy, and thrives in well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.

This plant's year-round appeal, low maintenance requirements, and suitability for different environments make it an excellent choice for gardens, containers, and landscaping projects.
